Shree Sadguru Hindustani Shastriya Sangeeta Vidyalaya


Established in 1997-98 in Sagara, Karnataka, Shree Sadguru Hindustani Shastriya Sangeeta Vidyalaya is a premier institution dedicated to the preservation and promotion of Indian Classical Music. Operating under the Vedanada Pratishtana (R.) since 2010, our Vidyalaya has nurtured over 1,000 students, guiding many to success in the prestigious Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya examinations.

Our Founder & Guru

The institution is spearheaded by Vidushi Vasudha Sharma, a remarkably versatile musician trained in vocal, Tabla (Delhi Gharana), and Harmonium under eminent maestros like Pt. Prabhakar Bhat Kerekai, Pt. Mohan Hegde Hunsekoppa, and Pt. Indudhar Nirodi.

A Life of Music

She has performed in over 1,500 concerts nationwide, trained upwards of 2,000 students, and holds a repertoire of over 5,000 compositions.

Unique Contributions

She is the author of "Shankara Stotra Swaramanjari", a groundbreaking book and CD series that adapts Sri Shankaracharya’s stotras into Hindustani Classical bandishes across 30 ragas. Her excellence has been recognized with numerous titles, including 'Malenada Siri' and 'Gayana Ganga'.

Our Social Commitment

We believe music is a universal right. Our institution is deeply committed to giving back to society through:

  • Empowering ArtistsOffering financial aid and awards to differently-abled artists every year.
  • Community OutreachOrganizing summer camps, monthly guest lectures, and the unique "Mane Manadalli Sangeeta" (Music in Every Home) initiative, which provides students with intimate stage experiences in their own homes.

Our Legacy & The National Music Festival

Recognized with the "Kala Poshaka" award by former Chief Minister Sri S. Bangarappa, our institution is celebrated for its annual 3-day National Music Festival. Over the past 25 years, our stage has been graced by more than 500 legendary artists from across the country, including Pt. Venkatesh Kumar, Pt. Jayateerth Mevundi, Pt. Indudhar Nirodi, Ustad Fayaz Khan, and many more, making Sagara a vibrant hub for Indian classical music.
